The Year of the Snake

According to the chinese zodiac, this year is the year of the wood snake. Snakes are a symbol of shedding the old, letting that brand new skin, even when tender, be shown.

The process of shedding the old, can be very dramatic. It can bring chaos to one´s life. Friendships, relationships may change...and aren´t we all oh so scare of change. Regardless, change is in our very nature, in the very nature of life.

Sometimes, we gotten used to that old suit, we have been dragging it for ages...it is heavy, it is dirty, could be stinky as well...but we feel so comfortable in it. It is known. We can even feel it like cozyness...like home. However, in order for us to expand, to grow, we need to leave those comfortable places. We may have already outgrown them, but the fear of the unknown, of leaving the comfort behind, can be overwhelming. And that´s ok.

The snake, she moves grounded and flows through the dirt. Her every move is a dance, is purposeful. When she sheds, she knows it´s time. It´s her nature and she accepts it. There is no fighting in that, no resistance. Just a constant dance with life cycles.

Tomorrow there is a full moon in Leo, and I´m reminded of change once again. Even the smallest idea, spark, action...can give birth to a marvelous unstoppable movement that is needed to propel you forward.

Constant actions are what creates our lifes. Like the effortless movement of the snake, dancing through the ground. 

I don´t know about you, but I´m tired of resisting, of resisting life, of resisting change. My old stinky suit feels too heavy now. I wanna run lightly, feel joyful for what it was and for what it is now.

So, what better year to shed the old than this one and what better day to feel joyful than a full moon in Leo...an explosion of  love, warmth and taste for life.
